Kitty E Kollars. “E” or “O” Tube protective collar. “E” or “O” tubes (oesophagostomy) are a satisfactory modality for providing long term enteral nutrition. They are easy to insert, relatively inexpensive, and necessarily can last a long time. The challenge has been in everyday patient management. The Kitty Kollar is in an adjustable collar that fits securely around the patient’s neck with a hole or vent for the O-tube. A Velcro strap holds the O tube down and secure when not in use. Circular pads (6) are provided to absorb any drainage between stoma and the collar. Machine washable: keeps stoma site clean. Ease of application and removal: clients can do it at home. Lower risk of tube removal by patient. Can leave in place for radiographs, chemo, or other procedures. Aesthetically pleasing for “squeamish” clients.
