SurgiVet Broncho-Alveolar Lavage Catheter. The BAL catheter is used for lung lavage and/or collection of a specimen from specific lung fields. This catheter is used on animals under sedation, most commonly horses. The catheter is equipped with a balloon at the end that can be inflated to prevent retrograde fluid flow and a proximal two-way fitting allows simultaneous connection for both irrigation and aspiration. Reusable and autoclavable – however, the plastic proximal two-way fitting must be removed. Replacement balloon cuffs (RK7) and silicon adhesive (ADH2) are available. Replacement inflation lines (RILS) available. The three-way stopcock (STC3WSLIP) provided is not autoclavable and intended for
one time use. Sterile. Available in 30Fr 240cm (BAL240) or 30Fr 300cm (BAL300).
