SurgiVet Chest Drainage Tubes. Chest drainage tubes can be used for the drainage of air or fluid (hemo-, chylo-, pyo-, pneumothorax). These tubes are placed by making an incision with a scalpel and bluntly dissecting through the muscle layers into the thoracic cavity. It is recommended to use with Metal Stiffening Stylets (MSS). The metal stiffening stylets are designed to be shorter than the catheter because the silicone tube will bunch up on itself when being pushed through the skin. Markings at 2 and 4cm from the last hole aid in correct positioning of catheter. Multiple large holes for draining viscous fluids. Reusable and autoclavable, supplied sterile. Radiopaque. Available in the following sizes: CT12 12Fr 42cm, CT14 14Fr 42cm, CT20 20Fr 42cm or CT30 30Fr 42cm.
